Mountain Spring Farm
About: Mountain Spring Farm

Mountain Spring Farm...
does not just breed sport ponies. Training of a few outside horses as well as the young stock here is in the scope of the farm. Ponies are not backed until they are four, but undergo extensive ground work as youngsters and they are handled daily. My horses grow up in a herd environment. I feel that this teaches them a lot as they learn so much from each other. They are calm, sensible and curious and know how to handle themselves in many different situations.
My foundation brood mare, Mountain Spring's Arabella, and her offspring are also show string, though I do choose just a couple to concentrate on. The training and prepping of the entire herd for the show ring would be a daunting experience!
I have, over the years, competed in sports such as combined driving, pleasure driving, trail, combined training, hunter, dressage, and endurance.
Over the past year, I have been working hard on getting a large (100 x 200 ft) outdoor arena completed. It has been a lot of work as we are at the foot of the North Mountain and nothing here is flat or level. It is nearly finished and I'm eagerly awaiting April, so I can finish planting the hedge that will make my arena look, finally, done!
In the future, I plan to do continue training my young horses as well as giving Ground Driving and Long Lineing Clinics as well as driving lessons. I look forward to that!
